We are Neil and Jen Bakewell, two ordinary people with no special skills in publishing, we don’t have hidden superpowers or any advantage of any kind. We went through publishing failure after failure before we finally started to see lasting and prolonged success.
We had occasional glimpses along the way, certain books would do pretty well, but we just couldn’t replicate the success with the next book. It was heartbreaking to see our books fail and tank down the rankings. We almost gave up to be honest. We’re pretty sure that you have been through the same.

What can you expect from self publishing masters?
Self publishing masters is our brand new monthly membership group. In the past we have concentrated on small focused masterminds, but now we want to reach out and help a wider range of people.
We provide some incredible training on all aspects of self-publishing. So it doesn’t matter if you are doing short fiction, long fiction or non-fiction you will find things to help you.
We cover essential areas such as productivity, mindset, writing techniques, book promotion and a whole lot more. We do a lot of this training live! So you can ask questions as we go.
We get in outside experts to provide expert masterclasses on their own particular areas of expertise.
One area many people struggle with is accountability. With no “boss” to drive you can find yourself slacking. So we have motivational Mondays where you tell the group what you are doing this week and then the group holds you accountable.
We have Masters Mindsets where we read a self-help / business book each month and share our big takeaways and discuss how to relate to self publishing.
There are live Q+A coaching sessions where get on the call and ask us your most pressing questions.
Plus we have the Facebook group that links it all together. Many of our members have their own insights and they share information willingly (and you can read their incredible testimonials below). This is the story of how I went from earning practically zero to making $574,281.32 in less than three years from kindle books.
It was a lucky accident really. I signed up for some training and was introduced to a man called Neil Bakewell. Neil was writing tiny little books that were making amazing money. From that moment I followed everything Neil did. I wrote quickly, I read books in the genre and I emulated the style that Neil was writing. In essence I copied his formula as much as I could.
Neil is a great trainer and always happy to share and to help out. He is able to dig down into a subject and work out what works in a spectacular fashion. Then he is able to document those steps in a way that is easy to follow.
The success this has brought me has been amazing and totally life changing. During that time I spent over a year caring for my mum as she battled with cancer as well as helping to run two businesses. Despite this my income grew and grew. I remember a time when I was asked what income I was aiming for, I was earning around $5000 a month while still caring for mum and said I was very happy with that. How things change. My biggest month was last month at $33,093.64.
Kindle has allowed me to give up two businesses’ I hated and I now employ my husband full time. I am totally debt free including having paid off my mortgage and have just bought a brand new motor home. (RV) It was the most amazing experience to be in the showroom and asked what my budget was, after I thought for a moment I said, I don’t have one. Now I spend my weekends with two dogs in a beautiful motorhome all over the UK. It’s got plenty of room for me to write while away. That’s important, I try and write everyday even if only for five minutes. We are even thinking of taking off for a month or two. Just touring while we work from the comfort of the van.
So how did I do this? Neil taught me more than just what to write and how to market. He taught me how to diversify, how to let go, and how to scale up the business. Now he is working with his amazing wife Jen the team goes from strength to strength.
If you want to make money from kindle will it be easy? No, you will have to work and work hard but anyone can find the time. If I did, I know you can. All you need to do is work hard, be consistent and most of all follow the training to the letter. If you are not sure ask Neil or Jen, they will hate me for saying it, but they really are amazing.
